Atlantis Music Conference and Festival, the notoriously unpredictable convention of emerging artists and industry giants, took place in Atlanta, GA mid August of ’08. Through hundreds of artists submissions, the band was selected to perform in two separate industry events over the amazing weekends activities. After the band’s red carpet greeting at open ceremonies, the amazing event quickly proceeded over a weekend’s line-up of great artist’s performances, an array of intense seminars, and the pleasure of meetings with so many industry leaders offering their thoughts, advices, and directional wisdoms for our future endeavors. The band was fortunate to perform for a great crowd at club ‘Vinyl’ in the CW Music Complex, home to the elaborate conference and festival. Not only was the weekend a great success and opportunity for Life & Limb, but it also yielded a few select live performance videos which will be posted on site after production has been completed.

Life & Limb is currently in the pre-production phases of developing their latest music video. The band has been working with renown videographer and photographer Bryan Held of MediaHouse Designs. The Atlanta native is known for not only his creative shoots throughout the US, but also his exceptional work in Holland and Germany. When asked about the lengthy creative process of the shoot, he stated “that masterful planning and direction will take some time, but past experience dictates that end results are always worth the wait...”

“Writing, arranging, recording, editing..   Repeat ! ”  ..just a seemingly simple motto of Life & Limb for the past ten months or so.  Having pushed through thick and thin to complete the latest CD, the band has reached new creative heights through the production process, both in and out of the studio. From the rehearsal floor to the stage, the solidity and tightness of the band continues to gain strength as a result of long hours creating the new CD. Although it appears that the finished music reads in black and white, the live aspects of arranging and instrumentation enter a whole new game, with all new challenges. Hereby the band eagerly anticipates the release of the finished product in a few weeks, and the promotions and support soon to follow.

On August 1, 2008 - Life & Limb were selected to compete in the 92.9 DAVE FM Bud Unsigned Band Competition, to be held at the infamous ‘Eddie’s Attic’ in Atlanta, GA. After their music had been chosen for the contest from over 80 bands, it was evident that it would be an evening of stimulation and excitement for everyone involved. At 8 pm on Thursday August 8, Life & Limb took the stage to a completely packed house of fans, friends, TV crew, radio crew, and industry professionals. The first to perform of the evening’s three bands, they fired through their songs ‘High Pride’, ‘Something’s Wrong’, and ‘Reason With Desire’. Amidst the intensity of performing for the live radio broadcast, lie the passions that drove the band through the crowd pleasing renditions of their select hits. Just before rocking through their final song ‘Reason With Desire’, a special dedication went out to hosts Dave FM, Eddies Attic, and Bud Select- as well as to the other bands performing (Moontower, Joshua Fletcher) and special thanks to all of the fans who were in attendance to show their love and support. The most positive outcome of the event for the band beyond an amazing performance, was that this door opened up future opportunities to work with so many great musicians and professionals within our music community.. including a referral to Glenn Schick Mastering, who in turn helped produce their new brilliant CD due out later this year.

Another Sunday night show at the infamous Smith’s Olde Bar, Atlanta, GA. After weeks of rehearsals at Kirk Yamatani’s R.R.S., the band rocked through a sweet 8+ song set. Undoubtably, the highlight of the show was the band first ever performance of the soft bluesy “All In Time”, which is the last track on the latest CD. Breaking a set of intense rock sounds, the soulful ballady number turned ears across the crowd, and made a connection with a few listeners.. who later divulged that the song ‘struck a chord’ with them, and they ‘couldn’t wait to hear the studio version on the new record’.

Going, going, gone..  After many arduous months of producing, the mixing phase of the band’s latest CD “..Few and Far Between” was completed. They headed to Atlanta’s premier Glenn Schick Mastering to work with top Mastering Engineer Colin Leonard, who systematically tweaked the salt out of the mix, and threw a little sugar back on top. And although the professionals defined the music as a ‘new modern rock sound’, the band appreciates the fine engineering work they did on the album, but will always know in their heart of hearts, that its still just rock n roll to them.

Life & Limb had the pleasure of working with talented Graphic Designer George Stone (99X, Q100) on the new CD’s artwork and design. Fortunately he had time to lead this project aside from his obligations as the owner of Red Designs Inc. in Atlanta, GA. Not only did the accredited Art Director convert the meaning of the music into elaborate artwork, but he allowed the band the freedom to swiftly chose a significant direction while upholding  the band’s values, by positively representing it’s message for their listening audience.
